On December 31st, 2020, The Oval, a shopping mall owned by Dowell Commercial Real Estate, launched its grand opening in Chongqing. The Oval has introduced multiple forms of retail and commerce into the space.  Among them is OR, a multi-dimensional fashion complex, that will incubate various art formats and solutions with commercial value, eventually build an “art-plus-commerce” ecosystem. 

It includes fashion exhibition OR Gallery, and independent designer brand outlet OR Atelier. While helping art bring out its commercial value, OR also connects art with commercial spaces and consumer behavior. There are more interesting art formats, such as art IP, art peripherals products and cafes.

The first exhibition of OR Fashion Gallery “Coordinate Transformation”started with the opening of OR. At the opening ceremony, Ms. Xue Wei, the former director of the Yuan Art Museum, and the curator Luo Pan, artists Kay Guo and Xu Xizheng delivered a speech for the opening ceremony and announced the official opening of the first exhibition.

The blending of fashion exhibition OR Gallery, and independent designer brand outlet OR Atelier is a totally new attempt of the Yuan Art Museum, and will usher Chongqing into further artistic, cultural experiment and exploration, eventually influence on the lifestyle of the entire city.
